Virginia Ann Mitchell Pyle Gilson Age 89 of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Virginia was born to Clinton F. and Bernice T. Mitchell. She attended Shortridge High School, Herron School of Art and Butler University. Virginia was a member and Deacon of Northminister Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands Merrill E. Pyle, Jr.and James S. Gilson Sr., daughter Sue A. Pyle Bradley and brother Thomas Q. Mitchell. She belonged to Pi Beta Phi Sorority and was a former member of Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, Matinee Musicale Choral Group, Community Choir, Alpha Sigma Latreian Sigma Alpha Iota Music Sorority Patroness Club, Butler University President's Club, Indiana Museum of Art Alliance, Docent Indianapolis Museum of Art, Museum of Art Study Group, and Butler University Literary Club. She was a retired Legal Secretary of Indiana State Court of Appeals. Virginia is survived by her children, R. Michael (Margaret) Pyle, son-in-law Craig H. Bradley, step-son James S. Gilson, Jr, grandchild Ian Scot Pyle, and great granddaughter Ella Grace Pyle. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, June 26th, 2013 at Northminister Presbyterian Church at 10 am till the time of the service at 11 am. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
