Virginia E. Burke Pryor

Virginia E. Pryor, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away March 18, 2012. She was born December 20, 1919 in Slater, Virginia. She was retired from the Marion County Welfare Department. Virginia was an active member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church. Other memberships include the Business Professional Women of America(B.P.W.A.) and Officer's Wives Club at Fort Harrison. She was a fantastic baker. Survivors include her two sons, Larry(Diana) Pryor and Steven(Barbara) Pryor; daughter, Nancy(Frank) Smith; 6 grandchildren: Larry(Melodie) Pryor, Frankie Smith, Christine(Jay) Justus, Ernest Smith, Jacob(Melissa) Pryor, Ben Pryor; 3 great grandchildren: Andrew, Kaine, and Jack. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence E. Pryor. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street. Visitation will be held prior to services on Thursday from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wheeler Mission or Shriner's Children's Hospital Transportation Department.
