Virginia Boeldt

December 10, 1920 — September 14, 2010

Virginia Rose Boeldt, 89, of Dallas, Texas, died September 14, 2010. She was born on December 10, 1920 in Bryantsville, Indiana, the daughter of Nola Trueblood Edwards and William Isaac Edwards. She graduated first in her class from Bryantsville High School and then moved to Indianapolis. She and Gerald Theodor Boeldt were married on September 25, 1942 and lived in Indianapolis for 44 years, where they were active in University Park Christian Church. They spent their active retirement years in Sun City West, Arizona, where they were members of Sun City Christian Church. Jerry preceded her in death in 1997. Virginia was a loving mother and home maker. Family and friends were what mattered, whether it was her children or her grandchildren. She was also a devoted sports fan, having grown up listening to the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals baseball games on the radio and playing both baseball and basketball while in high school. She was a crack bridge player and enjoyed regular rounds of golf with Jerry. Later in life, after their retirement to Arizona, she closely followed the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks. Even after moving to Dallas in 2005, when other residents of her apartment complex would stay for music programs after dinner, Virginia would hurry back to her apartment to watch the Cowboys, Rangers or Suns playing that evening. She loved helping others. She spent endless hours helping her husband and, subsequently, other friends, who became ill. She was very compassionate and caring of others. Her grand-daughters, Michelle and Megan were the greatest joy of her life. She loved spending time with them, remarking on their achievements and remembering the love she had for her grandmothers. Virginia had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to be with others having fun. She and Jerry both enjoyed travel and they started early instilling this love of travel in their daughters. She will be missed greatly. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Kriscunas and Bonnie Pautler, her grand-daughters Michelle and Megan Pautler and her son-in-law Bob Kriscunas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, twin daughters Patricia Ann and Mary Lou Boeldt, her parents Nola and William Edwards, her brother Bernard Edwards and sister Ruth Reily. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting contributions in memory of Virginia Rose Boeldt be made to the International Essential Tremors Foundation www.essentialtremor.org or the Bryantsville Hunger Relief Project www.bhrp.org Acknowledgements should be sent to Suzanne Kriscunas, 6110 Meadow Road, Dallas, TX 75230.
