Virginia Rose Volkert Angermeier 88 of Avon, Indiana formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away February 21, 2024.  She was born in Elizabethtown, Illinois on February 25, 1935, one of 6 children, the only daughter, to the late Charles Frederick and Mary Agnes (Forwe) Volkert.   Ginny, as she was known affectionately, graduated from Rosiclare Community High School, where she was on the Student Council and graduated in 1952.  Ginny attended Lockyear’s Business College in Evansville, Indiana.  Upon graduation, she began working for Hancock Trucking Co. for the Traffic Manager.  After a few months, she joined the Personnel Department at Mead Johnson in the Wage and Salary Administration. She was promoted to Secretary to the Personnel Director (what we now know as Human Resources).  In August of 1958 she was married to her sweetheart, Walter Angermeier of Evansville, Indiana, in Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elizabethtown, Illinois.  Ginny and Walter moved to Indianapolis, Indiana and joined the parish at St. Ann Catholic Church and she devoted her life to her husband, their five children, and being active in the parish.  She belonged to the St. Ann Ladies’ Guild, National Council of Catholic Women, Bible Studies, Festival Bakery Booth Chairman, and Chairman of the annual Baby Shower for Pro Life.  In 1979 she returned to the work force as a part-time Secretary in the local Goodyear Racing Division and found herself to be a loyal racing fan. Ginny enjoyed being a hostess to friends and colleagues of the Director of Racing.  She loved working with her flowers, baking, embroidery work, playing cards, traveling, music, and being an avid reader.  Most of all, Ginny dedicated her life to the care of her husband, her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren.  There was nothing that pleased her more than the happiness and successes of her children but most of all their love for each other.  Ginny is survived by her beloved husband, Walt, her children, Julie (Tim) Harrington, Michael Angermeier, Nancy (Robert) Litherland, Colleen Angermeier, Diane (Leroy) Williams, grandchildren, Kara, Jenna Williams, Alison, Andrea Angermeier, and her many friends and her parish family.  Besides her parents, Charles, and Agnes, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard, Mark, Omer, Adolph, and Lawrence.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, 11:00am at St. Ann Catholic Church 6350 S.
