Violet Rose Dippel peacefully passed away, Wednesday, October 16, 2013. She was the fifth child of Alfred and Williana Mathews, born in McMinnville, Tennessee on January 28, 1927. Violet attended grade schools 85 and 57 and graduated from Howe High School in 1945. She then married retuning veteran Charles Dippel starting a union that lasted 67 years. Those years consisted of the usual activities of a normal married couple--births, deaths, weddings, parties, houses, cars, good days, bad days, church activities and the fellowship of friends and relatives. She worked at Community Hospital for 10 years but was mainly a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Chris and Kevin, and brothers, William, Ray and Walter.
Survivors include her husband Charles, Sons, Curtiss (Valarie) Dippel, Kent (Carol) Dippel, her sister, Christine Williams, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
