Viola LaVoune Bloxsom, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. She was born on November 17, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late Melvin and Lillian (Matlock) McKinney. Following her father's untimely death when she was 3, Viola was raised by her mother, Lillian, and step-father, Marion Plake. She married Harry P. Bloxsom on September 12, 1945; they celebrated 49 years of marriage before his death in 1994 and remained faithful to the end. Viola is survived by her son, David Bloxsom of Keymar, MD; daughter, Beth Barthalow of no fixed address; and brother, Harrold McKinney. Her sister, Lila Mae Coburn, died earlier this year. Visitation for Mrs. Bloxsom will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 4pm until 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10am in the Chapel of Floral Park Cemetery with entombment immediately following.
