Vickie Diane Gundrum, born on August 14, 1948, in Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on February 1, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She lived a life characterized by love, dedication, and accomplishment, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by her family and friends.

A master cosmetologist and owner of a beauty shop, Vickie was known not only for her skill and artistry but also for the care she provided to each of her clients. Her talents extended far beyond the salon; she was also passionate about cake decorating and was proud to have served as the Director of the Greenfield Senior Center. Vickie pursued education diligently, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Gerontology from Ball State University, thus exemplifying her commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.

Vickie had a wonderful sense of adventure and cherished the memories made during summers spent traveling and camping with loved ones. She also had a unique bond with her grandchildren, whom she adored as if they were her own children, and was affectionately known as the glue that held her family together. Vickie's personality shone through her quick wit and feisty spirit, displaying both love and independence in everything she did.

Among her proudest accomplishments were her family, her educational pursuits, and her musical talents. Vickie had a profound passion for playing the dulcimer, a skill she lovingly passed on by teaching others to enjoy this beautiful instrument as well.

Throughout her life, Vickie enjoyed various hobbies and interests, including woodcarving and decorating cakes, which became another avenue for her creativity. She also found joy in playing turkeyfoot with her family and was an active member at Conner Prairie, where she connected with her community.

Vickie is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, David L. Gundrum, and their children, John (Karen) Gundrum. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Hannah Gundrum, Courtney Reed, Audra Coffman, Lindsay Alexander (Bill Cordes), Adrea (Zach) McCloud, and Cliffton (Rachel) Atchison. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Lilly Alexander, Carter Alexander, Harper Meyer, Nora McCloud, Ava Atchison, Elijah Atchison, Arielle Atchison, Jasper Atchison, and Jiraiyah Atchison. Vickie is further survived by her siblings, Danita (Doug) Martin and Micheal Lively.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde V. Lively and Carol L. (Chambers) Lively, and her daughter, Renee Gundrum.

Visitation and memorial services will be held at Flanner Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) in Indianapolis. Visitation will take place on February 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Vickie Diane Gundrum’s warm heart and vibrant spirit touched the lives of many, and her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
