Vickie Jo Ebbert

November 29, 1960 — June 25, 2025

Fairland, Indiana

Vickie Jo Ebbert, 64, of Fairland, Indiana passed away on Wednesday June 25, 2025, after a long-fought illness.

Vickie was born on November 29, 1960, to Bill (William) and Shelby Hobbs.

She met the love of her life Dean Ebbert at 28 years of age. They lived happily together for 35 years.

She found joy in many things, but her favorite roles were substitute teaching and serving as a lunch lady, where she loved being around children and brightening their day. A lover of all things yellow, Vickie’s cheerful spirit shone as warmly as her favorite color. She had a deep love for flowers and animals and could often be found watching animal videos that made her smile or tending to her garden outside. She also enjoyed relaxing with a coloring book, bringing beauty to each page with her creativity. Most of all, Vickie adored her family – nothing meant more to her than being surrounded by those she loved, especially her children and grandson. She is said by many to have the biggest heart and will be remembered for kindness, warmth, and laughter.

Vickie is survived by her loving husband Dean Ebbert, children, Shelena (Robert) Nieves, Jacob Ebbert, Sarah (James) Yonts; mother Shelby Jean Hobbs; grandson Jackson Yonts; siblings Bob (Sharon) Hobbs, Randy Hobbs, nieces Emily, Jillian, Brittany, Faith; nephew Anthony; as well as many other aunts and uncles.

Vickie is preceeded in death by her father, Bill (William) Hobbs.
