It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vic Goad on July 21, 2026. Vic passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 73. Born on September 30, 1952, in Muncie, Indiana, Vic was the son of the late Virgil and Martha Goad.
On May 8, 1993, Vic married the love of his life, Flo Douglas, in St. Louis, Missouri. Together, they shared 33 wonderful years, creating a home filled with joy, laughter, and countless memories. Vic is survived by his devoted wife, Flo, his loving son, Travis Goad, and his cherished daughter, Alisha Goad, along with her husband, Justin Baker. He also leaves behind his brother, Virgil Goad Jr., his wife Judy, as well as his sister, Virginia Stevens. Vic was predeceased by his parents, Virgil and Martha Goad, and his brother-in-law, Dave Stevens.
Vic's journey was marked by a love for his family and a career in the medical information technology industry. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Ball State University, which paved the way for his successful professional life. Known for his integrity, work ethic, and kindness, Vic was a cherished colleague and friend.
Vic's life was enriched by his many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed classic cars and restoring his ‘69 Chevrolet Camaro. Vic was a G.I. Joe aficionado, gathering an impressive and expansive collection of classic figures and vehicles. Vic enjoyed photography especially sports action shots. He was kind, gentle and caring, along with his quite but quick wit and expert quips.
A celebration of Vic's life will be held on July 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, located at 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Vic are welcome to join us in honoring his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Vic's memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA). If making a donation on the LBDA website please click the Add a dedication, which can be found above “Tell us about yourself” and enter Vics’s name. This organization was close to Vic's heart, and contributions will help support others affected by this disease.
