Verna Thompson

Verna M. "Gracie" Hastie Thompson , born in Perry, Iowa August 1, 1919 passed away April 12, 2012. She worked as treasurer of Business Furniture for 11 years., financial and social secretary for the Metropolitan Board of Realtor for 25 years. After retiring she worked part time for Heartland Film Festival. She volunteered for the Indiana Historical Society, Indiana Art Museum and Wishard Hospital. She is a member of Northminister Presbyterian Church and Sunnyside Guild. Gracie was preceded in death by her husband James E. Thompson and brothers Kenneth, Clifford and Eldon Hastie. Gracie is survived by a daughter Jacqueline Engel; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. No service are planned. Burial will be in the Perry City Cemetery, Perry, Iowa.
