Greenfiled

Vera M. Lannerd, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and talented seamstress, passed away on November 11, 2023, in Greenfield, Indiana. She was born on February 15, 1927, to Howard H. and Ruby G. (Walton) Spiehler in her beloved hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Vera led a remarkable life filled with love, joy, and passion. She dedicated many years working for an Orthopedic Doctors Office where she made a positive impact on the lives of those she encountered.

Family meant everything to Vera, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. Their presence brought an undeniable happiness to her life, and their smiles lit up her world. She was immensely proud of their achievements and never missed an opportunity to brag about them to anyone who would listen. Music held a special place in Vera's heart. She took great pride in boasting about the musical talents within her family circle. The melodic harmonies created by her loved ones filled her heart with immense joy and admiration.

One of Vera's greatest joys in life was sewing and making quilts by hand. Her skill and creativity were unmatched as she delicately stitched together beautiful quilts that would warm the hearts of those who received them. Every stitch was imbued with her love and warmth as she poured her heart into each piece she crafted.

Another one of Vera's passions was tending to her houseplants. With her green thumb and nurturing spirit, she cultivated a thriving indoor garden that brought life and beauty into her home. Her devotion to plants demonstrated not only her love for nature but also reflected her nurturing personality.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard H. Spieler and Ruby G. (Watson) Spiehler, her beloved husband Robert Lannerd, brother Alfred Spiehler, brother Howard Spiehler, and sister Mildred Brooks.

Vera leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of her surviving family members, her children: Susan Anderson and Steve (Peggy) Bea; her loving grandchildren: Heather (Tim) Lewis, Tara (Mike) Brunswick, Grant (Kerstin) Bea, Brett Bea, and Cameron (Elizabeth) Bea; as well as eight adoring great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters MaryJane West and Barbara (Jim) Hedges.
Vera's kind spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her many passions will forever live on. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that her presence has left an indelible mark on the world around her.
