Veona M. Jorgensen

Crawfordville, Florida

Veona M. Jorgensen, 94, passed away February 10th, 2024. She was born May 5th, 1929, in Hazen, North Dakota to parents George and Martha (Pempeit) Sailer. Veona grew up in North Dakota. She later moved to Indianapolis with her husband and spent her final years in Florida. Veona spent 60 years with the love of her life, Eldon Jorgensen. Eldon passed away in 2010. She worked as a dietary supervisor at a nursing home for many years before retiring. Her faith was very important to her, and she attended several Lutheran Churches throughout her life. 

Veona was a loving, compassionate woman with a great sense of humor. She had a huge heart for children and helping people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Veona is survived by her children Nancy (Gary) Hutchinson, Paula (William) Wilkins, and Joan Jorgensen; grandchildren Aaron Wilkins, Melissa Green, Alex Mechuta, and Allison Hutchinson; great-granddaughter Ella Mechuta; siblings Velma Wylie, Vernon Sailer and Roland Sailer; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, her son Nathan Jorgensen, and eight siblings. 

Visitation for Veona will be Monday February 19th, from 1-3pm, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery. 

We ask that guests attending Veona's services, please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne, due to allergies.
