Velma Phipps

Velma Phipps, 85, formerly of Indianapolis, recently of Kirkland, Washington, passed away March 23^rd, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana November 18^th, 1936, to parents Cecil and Sarah (Fendley) Lathrop.

Velma grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Southport High School.

On September 2^nd, 1955, she married the love of her life, Buddy Phipps. They shared 47 wonderful years together.

For over 40 years, Velma worked as a purchasing associate for the US Naval Avionic Center until she retired.

Velma was a warm, loving lady. She and her husband Buddy loved to travel all around the US and beyond. They enjoyed taking cruises and road trips together. Velma loved nothing more than spending time with Buddy and her family.

She was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Velma is survived by her sister Carolyn Clubb and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and constant companion, Buddy.

Visitation for Velma will be at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. Service details will be updated shortly. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Washington Park East Cemetery.
