Velma M. Dotson

Velma M. Dotson, 85, of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014. She was born July 4, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late James Porter & Gladys Bell Gregory Smither. Velma is survived by her children David H. (Nanta) Dotson, Sr. and Linda L. Dotson; sister Marjorie Zimmer; grandchildren David Dotson, Jr., Angela Watts, Larry Wray, and April Wray; great-grandchildren Stephen Ramirez, Deja Dotson, Justice Dotson, Solomon Watts, and Aria Watts; great-great-grandchildren Abbey Ramirez, Tristan Ramirez, and Adelina Dotson; and ZZ the cat. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Howard Avery Dotson. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis or the American SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
