Velma (Justus) Daugherty

Velma (Justus) Daugherty, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away, December9, 2015. Velma attended ButlerUniversity and received her B.A. in Psychology from Hanover College. She married John I. Jack Daugherty in 1955,and they owned and operated J & V Janitorial for several years.

Velma was born June 6, 1927 the daughter of Walter G. and KatieMay Justus who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by herhusband, Jack Daugherty, and her 7 siblings, Helen M. (Davisson), Bernice A., HenryG., Walter E., Charles L., Dorothy M., and Robert C. Justus.

She was a loving mother to her only son John S. Daugherty,grandmother to 4 grandchildren, Joshua (Danielle), Nicole, Katie, and EmilyDaugherty, and 4 great-grandchildren. Velma was a beloved aunt, cousin, andfriend to many.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 6:00 PM,Friday, December 18, 2015 at Flanner andBuchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis,IN. Family will receive visitors from4:00 PM until the service time.
