Una Faye Hawk

Una Faye (Nofsinger) Hawk went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Una was born on August 13, 1931 to LeRoy Nofsinger and Iva Mae (Markee) Nofsinger. She grew up in Hillsboro, WI and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1948. She then continued her education at a business school in Salem, OH, the town where she also taught for a while.

At the urging of her pastor, E.R. Mitchell of the Hillsboro Pilgrim Holiness Church, she went to work at the World Headquarters for the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Indianapolis, IN.

She began attending Brookside Pilgrim Holiness Church where she met the dashing and dapper Joseph Hawk, her husband to be. They were married on February 20, 1954 in Hillsboro, WI at the Pilgrim Holiness Church by Dr. O. D. Emery. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 20, 2024 with family and friends.

Una was the queen of hospitality and good cooking. Everyone who dropped in for a visit rarely left without a meal or a piece of pie or cake, or both. Her long johns, rolls, graham cracker pies, and cookies were favorites with the grandkids.

They were very involved in the Wesleyan Church for most of their lives making many special friends and sharing their talents for the Lord.

Family devotion time and singing together around the piano with Mom playing, was a big part of our lives.

Their union produced 3 children, Rachel Elaine (Donald) Haworth of Hillsboro, WI, Philip Lee (Deborah) Hawk of Portland, OR, Timothy Carl (Patty) Hawk of Johnston, RI.

Una is survived by her husband, Joseph, her 3 children, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, and 1 grandchild.
