Tye Burgland

Tye Daniel Burgland passed away suddenly, September 5 inAvon, Indiana. Tye was born June 23, 1973 in Monmouth, Illinois to JaniceUpdegraff and Danny W. Burgland. He is survived by his mother and father, hisson, Ian Burgland, brother Cory Burgland(Beth), half-sister Morgan Harrell, half-brother Jon Harrell, long-time girlfriend,Caron Blair, and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Tye grew up in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth HighSchool and attending Carl Sandburg College. He moved to Indianapolis, where hemarried Jolie Pierce in 1998 and began his career with Dow AgroSciences in1999, as a Senior Technician in Research and Development. There he grew to lovethe science of plants, growing and tending lush plants and flowers. Otherpassionate interests included his Harley Davidson motorcycle, music andpyrotecnics. He was an accomplished drummer and prized his time playing in aband. He was a member of the Midnight Rider Motorcycle club and spent manyweekends on long distance rides and club activities.

Tye was most proud of his son, Ian, and liked nothing morethan watching him compete in swimming.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2pm at Church atthe Crossing, 9111 Haverstick Rd. Indpls., with visitation beginning at 1pm.
