Ty William Ballard

48, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 17, 2018. He was born July 23, 1969 to William and Susan Ballard in Indianapolis. As a lifetime Indianapolis resident, he graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1987. Most of his career was spent working for Fed Ex but be became a commercial truck driver later in his career. Family remembers Ty as a softball dad; he loved being active with his children. He was the kind of man who was always there whenever you needed him. He was also a race fan for life, from IndyCar to NASCAR to drag, he loved them all. Mostly, he can be remembered as a man who never met a stranger. He was charismatic and easily connected to all he met. He was a wonderful son, dad, and grandpa; his presence will be truly missed. He is preceded in death by his mother, Susan Ballard.  He is survived by his daughters, Brittney Ballard and Brooke (Justin) Cobb; grandchildren, Jaxin and Zaine Cobb; father, William Ballard; sister, Mandy (Matthew) McClellan; nieces; Anna and Gretchen McClellan and nephew, Hayden McClellan.  Family and friends may visit Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 11 am to 3 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township.
