Thomas -Tom- Shields

83, Indianapolis, passed away on September 18, 2016. Tom was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 22, 1933 to the late, Percy and Helen (Steenbergen) Shields. He retired in 1988 from Chrysler Corporation after 35 years. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, model airplanes and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Virginia F. (Hylton) Shields; two sons, William Lee and John Alan Shields; and two brothers, Charles and William Shields. He is survived by his son, Thomas L. Shields, Jr. (Terri); three grandchildren: Jordan Brumbeloe, and Ethan and Leah Shields; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Calling will be held from 4pm until 8pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, where funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 22nd. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
