THOMAS P. GAERTE (1942-2016)
Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Thomas Prentiss Gaerte, 73, died at his Broad Ripple home on Thursday, August 18, 2016.
Born in Noblesville, Indiana, in 1942, the son of Wilma and Harry Gaerte, he married Carole Hutt in 1964. The couple later adopted a child, their daughter, Kelly.
For 37 years, he worked for Trans-World Airlines at its Indianapolis hub, until he retired in 1999. He was a quiet and caring man who was devoted to his family, loved animals, and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife Carole, daughter Kelly, grandson Jacob, his brother Stephen, and sister Sherry. According to his wishes, Thomas Gaerte’s remains will be cremated, and the Gaerte family will hold a private memorial service.
Friends may send memorial gifts in his name to the Hamilton County Humane Society (1721 Pleasant St, Noblesville, IN 46060).
