Thomas O. Bertrand

Thomas O. Bertrand, 77 of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022. Tom was born June 30, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Raymond and Dorothy Bertrand.

Tom was an electronic technician. He had worked for several companies, before eventually becoming self-employed. He later worked for Optilex, a company that assisted those with low vision and blindness, from whom he retired in 2005. Tom was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 2:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, March 27 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Monday, March 28 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Tom is survived by his children, Mary K. (Richard) Lynch, David T. Bertrand and Benjamin A. (Monica) Bertrand; grandchildren, Susan (Cesar) Garcia, Carolyn Lynch, Mary (Ibrahim) El Alemat, Samantha Bertrand, Bethany Bertrand and Eleanor Bertrand; great granddaughter, Lucy Garcia; brothers, James (Sharon) and Ronald (Ellen) Bertrand; niece, Michele Bertrand, and 3 grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his former wives, Susan Bertrand (Szep)and A. Margaret Bertrand (Manning), granddaughter, Jennifer Anderson- Bertrand, and nephew, Jared Bertrand.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, ASPCA, Catholic Charities or National Parks Foundation.
