Thomas Leroy Robbins

Thomas Leroy Robbins, 88, passed away on April 28, 2023.

He was born on May 13, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Harry and Rita Robbins.

He was a 1953 graduate of Tech High School and went on to become a police officer. He bravely served IPD for 31 years. During his time on the force, he was awarded a key to the city of Indianapolis after his heroic actions.

He is survived by his children, Greg Robbins and Danielle Robbins; grandson, Kevin Robbins; granddaughters, Tiffany Robbins and Tonya Robbins McKee;  5 great-granddaughters; 2 great-grandsons; and siblings, Vernon Robbins and Joellyn Ashe.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Robbins; his parents; and his son, Kevin Robbins.

Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229 with entombment to follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the same location.
