Thomas Avery Henderson

April 1, 1957 — February 7, 2024

Carmel, Indiana

Tom was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio where he attended high school and Miami University, receiving his associates degree.  Tom worked for Champion/International Paper for 15 years before he moved to the internal print shop of Provident Bank, owned by Carl Lindner (Cincinnati Reds owner.)  Tom left the printing industry when the bank closed to pursue a career in IT Services, working for the State of Indiana and thereafter, the Federal Defense Financing Accounting Services (DFAS).  Tom was popular on the HELP desk at DFAS as he received MANY (repeat offender) calls for his assistance, but he was always willing to help.

Tom's true love was motorcycle racing. He competed in the 1970's and 1980's on various speed cycles and often spent time tinkering with his motor toys to make them go "just a little bit faster".   Tom's 2nd home was Eldora Speedway, the home of 'getting dirty'.  He would often travel with his riding gear, just in case they needed an 'extra' rider for a race.

Tom was known to be a kind soul always willing to lend a hand to a friend, with a quick wit and a good sense of humor; a killer pool player as well as poker player; yet always disappointed by his Cincinnati Bengals... Who Dey! But the label "Papaw" by his grandkids was the thing he was most proud of that brought him immeasurable joy.

Tom leaves behind his wife, Lillian "Stacy" Letton; a daughter, Hannah Lee Henderson; 3 grandchildren - Serena Grace Huber, Leo Nolan Huber and Cooper Lee Huber; a son-in-law Steven Huber, a sister, Beth Galbraith; a niece Emily Galbraith; a brother-in-law Bob Galbraith; a long list of friends; and his sleeping buddy Ninja (the cat),

Tom is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Beth Henderson (Howell), his mother, Bonnie Lee Henderson (Williamson), his Father Ralph A. Henderson, Esq., and a sister Barbara Lee Henderson.

Tom will be laid to rest with his mother at the Union Cemetery in Columbus, OH.
