Thomas Eston Konrad

Thomas Eston Konrad, 83, Lebanon, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on May 12, 2014. Tom was born on June 8, 1930 in Indianapolis and was the son to Henry and Catherine Konrad. He was married to Phyllis Jean Van Arsdale, the love of his life, for 63 years. He attended Ben Davis and Washington High Schools. He retired from the Teamsters Union Local 135 and 710 after over 40 years of service. Tom was in the US Army in 1951, and rose to rank of Sargent during the Korean War, and received the Bronze Star. Tom was known as a jack of all trades; he could build or fix anything. Many became dependent on his knowledge and generosity to help anyone when there was a need to do so. Survivors include wife Phyllis Jean VanArsdale Konrad, sons Richard W. Konrad (Donna) Indianapolis, Thomas L. Konrad (Allie) Avon, and daughter Terri R. Konrad England (Gerald) Brownsburg. Tom was also blessed with 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great- Grandchildren. The angels in heaven have received kind hearted soul and a true Hero. Tom will be missed by all whose lives he touched and loved him. A private service was held on May 14th at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park Cemetery, 425 N. Holt Rd.
