Thomas Edward Roundtree

Thomas Edward Roundtree, Jr. 87, Zionsville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday September 29, 2013. He has joined his beloved wife of 66 years, Erma in Heaven. Thomas was born in Jasonville, IN to Thomas Sr. and Abbie Gail (Zink) Roundtree, who precede him in death. A patient and kind family man, Thomas cherished spending time his family. He displayed his great patriotism by joining the Navy at a young age to fight in World War II. After coming home, he raised a family with his loving wife, and worked as a truck driver for Kroger for 40 years and was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 135. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Murl and William and sisters, Gail, Barb, Rosemary (Sis), and Nancy. Mr. Roundtree is survived by his sons, Thomas III (Diana), Robert (Jane), James, and daughter Bonnie (Tim) Winship; grandchildren, Jilien (Craig) Harvey, Heather (Greg) Smith, Joseph Roundtree, Dustin (Lindsay) Winship, Abbie Gail Winship, Rebecca (Oscar) Toro, Seth Thomas Roundtree; step-grandchildren, Rachel (Jim) O'Brien, Grace (Billy) Freeman, Sarah (Chip) Cochran, and seven step great-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Blake, Bailey, Brayden Smith and Asher Harvey, and several nieces and nephews. Of the joy and care we received from you, none is more important so we choose to cherish them all. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Vincent Hospice. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10-12 pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr. Indianapolis IN 46228, with funeral services to follow at 12 pm.
