Thomas Eugene Perry
90, Indianapolis, formerly of Whitestown and Lebanon, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Wednesday, April 11, 2012.
Thomas was born December 19, 1921 in Indianapolis the son of Thomas Leroy and Mamie (Adams) Perry.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps and at the end of WWII was on Attu Kiska, Alaska to help reclaim the island from Japan. After returning home, he followed in his father's footsteps as a motion picture operator at many Indianapolis theaters. Later he became a maintenance engineer at St. Vincent Hospital and was one of the first employees at the new facility on 86th St, where he was responsible for keys to every lock. Retiring from this position, he continued work at Meijer, Carmel and Walmart, Lebanon as a greeter.Tom was a member of Whitestown Masonic Lodge #525 and 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Indianapolis.
Mr. Perry is survived by his daughter, Beverly Kay Johnson-(Richard) Raspenti and son, Frederick Thomas Perry; 3 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Coffman.
Services will be 11:00A.M. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, with visitation from 2:00 until 6 P.M. Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the funeral home.
