Thomas E. Hubbard, age 100, died March 4, 2022. He was born February 17, 1922 in Danville, IL. He was the son of Charles E. and Gertrude (Thornton) Hubbard. He attended elementary and high school in Danville, graduating in 1939. He was employed at Kraft Foods until he entered the Army in 1943. He served in Alaska, France and Germany and was discharged in January 1946. He returned to Peoria, IL and married Beryldean Groom on February 6, 1946. After they married, they moved to Minneapolis, MN where he was employed by Simmons Engineering Corp. The company relocated to Chicago, IL in 1947 and the couple relocated to Chicago too. Shortly thereafter, Tom left the company and the couple moved to Danville, IL and Tom worked for Hegler Zinc Co. While in Danville, Tom was contacted by Kraft Foods to return to their employment. He returned to Kraft Foods and worked for the company in Peoria, IL; Evansville, IN; and finally in Indianapolis, IN where he was employed as the office manager. He retired on March 1, 1984 after 43 years of service. Tom and Beryldean had two children, Thomas E. Hubbard, Jr. (Sandra) and Terri Deanne Hubbard. His wife, Beryldean, preceded him in death on June 15, 2005. He is survived by his daughter Terri, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Blvd E Dr, Indianapolis, and from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, March 11 with memorial service immediately after at 11:00 am. Interment at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery after the memorial service for family only. Tom was a member at Northminster Presbyterian Church since 1958. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Health Network Hospice Service or Northminster Presbyterian Church Sound and Spirit Program.
