Thomas E. Farson

Thomas Edward Farson, 84 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Riverwalk Village of Noblesville, IN where he fought a long battle with dementia. He was born April 26, 1938 on the Eastside of Indianapolis, he was the last child of Matthew Farson and Rachel (Campbell) Farson. Tom also had 4 siblings: Jean, Mimi, John and Jim. Tom was a 1956 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School where he enjoyed being on the golf team, and playing Pleasant Run Golf Course as often as he could. Tom was also a lifelong resident of the Irvington community living on Bolton Ave in his younger years and attending Irvington Presbyterian Church throughout his lifetime.

He enjoyed the love and support of his long time companion MaryAnn Furgason of 14 years. The family wants to thank her for caring and supporting him especially through his last years.

Tom married his high school sweetheart Mary Martin, and had 2 children Susie Ward and Kenneth Farson. Tom had a surprise luncheon with a young man back in 2017, who turned out to be his long lost son, John Boyd. In the next chapter of life Tom met and married Sharon Trick. They had 2 children Gary Farson and Jennifer Mroch. Tom was surrounded by many grandchildren and great grand children throughout his life. Later in life he met and married Barbara Jones.

Tom’s love for cars overtook his career as a draftsman after high school and with help from his brother John Farson and was quickly a familiar face at the local car auctions around Indianapolis. His company was named Deluxe Autos which was located at 38^th and Meridian for many years. He had many “toys” he enjoyed driving and showing off at local car shows especially his 57 Thunderbird and Turnpike cruiser which were among show favorites.

Funeral service will take place 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 8^th, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229, with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
