Thomas David Peine

August 1, 1937 — February 28, 2015

Thomas David Peine, was born on August 1, 1937 to William & Anita Frey Peine in Atlanta, GA. He was the oldest of three boys. After graduating from Broad Ripple High School in 1955, Tom earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity. In 1959 he married his high school sweetheart and beloved bride of 56 years, Susan Waldo Peine. Tom was a Professional Engineer and was co-owner of Peine Engineering Company, running the service department until his retirement. Tom was very involved in Boy Scouts and served as a Scout Master for the Mayer Chapel neighborhood Troop 111, and later for troop 187. He was a District Commissioner, and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, scouting's highest honor for volunteers for his outstanding service. He was the Chairman of the Board for LifeNets charity, and an elder in the United Church of God. Tom was a private pilot, a beekeeper, and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. He loved traveling and led many youth group trips. He was best known for his service to others, his love for his family, and his witty sense of humor. Tom is survived by his wife, Sue; his brothers, Richard and John; his children, Cathy (Malcolm) McClure, Mike (Sheila), Anita (Dave) Kranich, Bill (Gina), nine grandchildren: Jonathan McClure, Katie Peine Wefler, Ryan McClure, Daniel Kranich, Rebecca McClure, Joseph Peine, Jessica Peine, Stephen Kranich and Matthew Peine, and one great grandchild, Lucy Wefler.
