Theodore "Ted" Owen Scofield, 46 of Fishers, Indiana, passed away March 6, 2012. He was born December 28, 1965, the son of Owen and Joan Scofield and grew up in Fort Wayne, IN. He was the youngest of four children. He graduated from R. Nelson Snider High School and Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. Ted owned and operated Scofield Design & Communications since January 1996.
Ted loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, sailing and restoring wooden boats. He was a talented painter, artist and a meticulous and patient woodworker. He was known for his warm smile and generous spirit. That spirit and service to others was reflected in his founding of Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome (D.A.D.S.) locally. D.A.D.S. has grown into a national and international organization. He served on the Board for Down Syndrome Indiana for many years. He will be forever missed in the Down Syndrome Community.
Ted's life revolved around his faith and family. He was grounded in the Catholic Church and committed to being a servant for Holy Spirit at Geist Parish and others. He demonstrated his faith in the way he lived and interacted with others including leading bible studies and ushering at church, quite often with his son Ben. In times of need he was always willing to step up and help others. His legacy of compassion, love and service for others will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Ted is preceded in death by his father Owen. He is survived by his wife Katie, son Ben, stepdaughters Micah Lee, Karinne Lee and Reagan Lee; mother, Joan Scofield: brothers Tim (Karen), Tom (Barb) and sister Angie (Don) Branstetter.
