Theodore E. Aichele 83 of Indianapolis, passed away June 4, 2011 at his home from complications due to a 12 ½ year battle with Parkinson's. He was born Oct. 31, 1927 to John and Ethel Aichele at St. Francis Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father in 1973, his mother in 1985 and brothers Fred in 1994 and Richard in 2009 and his great niece Brooke in 1994. He is survived by his sister, Elouise Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale; his nieces, Rita Eckstein of Indpls., Karen Obsitnick of Indpls., Linda Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale; nephew, Mark Johnson of Indpls.; great nieces, Stacy Allison, of Ft. Lauderdale, Grace and Paige of Indpls.; great nephews, Brian, Stephen, Jeffrey and John all of Indpls., sister-in –laws, Harriette and Shirley. His partner of 46 years, Larry Wilhite of Indpls. Mr. Aichele is a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Fountain Square, where he was the organist and Choral Director for 35 years. He was a US veteran having served in the Army. Theodore was a Mason. He attended Butler University. Theodore worked in the Insurance business for many years with Mannan-Ramey- Aichele Inc. and he worked 26 years as an Assistant Building Service Directors at IUPUI. His many interest were as a pianist and Choral Director for Footlite Musicals; where he also appeared in numerous productions. He sang in the Dick Dennis Choral and also the Zionsville Choral. He especially loved to sing in a vocal quartet – The New Tradition with his brother, Jenny and Mr. Wilhite. They also appeared in variety shows at the Bluebird Dinner Theatre in Morristown. He and Mr. Wilhite lived in Ft. Lauderdale for 10 years and both loved to travel. They went to their favorite place Hawaii 7 times. They loved to remodel homes and condos in Indpls, and Florida. They did 10 altogether. Ted loved music and classic films with movie musicals being his favorite. A funeral will be Saturday June 11 at 12 noon at Flanner & Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center, 10722 E. Washington St. with calling from 9 AM - 12 Noon. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Footlite Musicals, St. Mark Church or the Nation Parkinson Foundation. Flowers are also welcome. He will be missed by many.
