Thelma L. Mehay

Thelma L. Mehay, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. She was born on December 2, 1932 in Dugger, IN to Nolan and Leah (Arnold) Bedwell. Thelma was a 1950 graduate of Dugger High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, George A. Mehay and they were married on June 5, 1950. George and Thelma moved to Merriville, IN where they lived for 30 years. They also spent 16 years living in Graysville, IN before moving to Indianapolis 3 years ago. Thelma is survived by her loving husband, George; children, Michael (Cathy) Mehay, Kevin (Lori) Mehay, Lisa (Bill) Sackman, Leah (Kostas) Evdokiou; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Thelma is also survived by sister, Mona Bedwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral services for Mrs. Mehay will be held at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 1pm. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services, also at the funeral home. A private entombment will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to either the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
