Terry G. Clark, 79, of Indianapolis, IN and formerly of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away May 28, 2016. He was born July 27, 1936, in Monmouth, IL the son of the late Walter F. and Alice (Carrithers) Clark and was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Elizabeth Yontz for over 57 years.
Terry graduated from Purdue University with his degree in Pharmacy. His strong work ethic and his desire to help others led to a long and successful career in pharmaceuticals across the Mid-West. He was Plant Manager for Dow Chemical in Indianapolis, Director of Manufacturing for Merrell Dow in Cincinnati, OH and the Director of Economics for Marion Merrell Dow in Kansas City, MO, where he retired from the corporate world. He then served as a hospital pharmacist for Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI, and as a part-time pharmacist for Kroger in Fairfield Glade, TN. He finally retired in April as a pharmacist after a 58-year career.
Terry cherished his family and always made them his priority traveling great distances as recently as two weeks ago to spend time with his family. Christmas was a favorite holiday and he bought too many gifts and played Santa Claus on the phone with grandkids, nieces and nephews for over 25 years. He had a wonderful sense of style and loved to shop for Elizabeth, Talbots will miss him greatly. He raised all 3 sons in sports and was past commissioner for the Carmel Dad’s Club in Carmel, IN. Football was a passion of his and he played the Fantasy Football Commissioner for a league for over 22 years. He was a member of Lion’s Club International and President in Minocqua, WI. Terry was always an active member in all of his churches serving as an elder, treasurer and choir member.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Y. Clark; three sons, Steven (Lisa) Clark, Scot (Patty) Clark, and Terry Clark II; five grandchildren, David, Sarah, Michael, Madelynne R., and Elizabeth C.; and two brothers, Roger F. (Jeannine) Clark and Douglas L. (Donna) Clark. He was preceded in passing by a grandson, Zachary Clark.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, 231 Westchester Drive, Crossville, TN, with a reception to follow the services. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Carmel Cemetery, 1100 North Rangeline Road, Carmel, Indiana.
