Terri Lee (Cochran) Heady, 68, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on December 4th, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born June 11th, 1957, in Indianapolis to Lee and Joy (Hodgkin) Cochran, Terri grew up with strong family roots that shaped the generous and compassionate woman she became. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1975 and went on to begin her career at Inland Mortgage, AllState—where she spent 17 years—and later at Penske before retiring after 5 years.
In 1990, Terri met the love of her life, Bob Heady, and from the beginning, the two were inseparable. They married in 2001 and spent more than three decades side by side, sharing countless adventures on their motorcycles, including several unforgettable cross-country trips. Their bond was one of deep affection, steady partnership, and true friendship.
Terri was the kind of woman whose presence filled a room. She was generous, witty, and had a heart of pure gold. Her radiant smile and contagious laugh brought joy to everyone lucky enough to know her. Terri loved her family fiercely—her greatest pride in life—and she never missed a chance to show it. Whether through her humor, her warmth, or her unwavering support, Terri made sure the people she loved felt loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Terri is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Heady; her brother, Mike (Laura) Cochran; sisters Dixie (Terry) Hurley and Linda Zupan; her sons Jeremy (Katie) Lee, Shane, and Chad (Ainsley) Heady; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved fur baby, Zoe.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 12th from 1:00–4:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan, with an officiated service to follow from 4:00–5:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and honor Terri’s memory.
