Tana Tides of Carmel, IN, passed away the morning of November 24th,2014 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Tana was born on June 6th, 1950 in Greece. Tana came to the USA in 1968 after marrying her husband Paul Tides. Tana and Paul were married for 46 years. Tana had 2 children, Nikolaos and Sotiria who loved, revered, and admired both their parents tremendously for all their sacrifices and assistance to them throughout their lives. Tana was a devoted wife to Paul, a loving mother to her children, and a dedicated and doting grandmother as known as "Yiayia" to her two beloved and precious grandchildren Nikolas and Anna who adore and love her. Tana worked for over 10 years at New Orleans House Restaurant where she was Head Baker for all of their in-house specialty desserts and sweets. Tana was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and volunteered in many of the church's Greek Festivals, bake sessions, Philoptochos organization, and donated basil from her garden to the church yearly for holidays. Tana, the mother, wife, grandmother, and friend too many, will be forever missed and remembered for her kindness, beautiful smile and warm generous heart for all of eternity. Calling will be Monday December 01, 2014 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 3500 West 106th Street Carmel, IN 46032 from 4 to 8 pm. There will be a Trisagion Service Monday Evening at 7 pm. Additional calling will be held on Tuesday December 02, 2014 beginning at 10 am at church followed by the funeral service at 11 am. Tana is survived by her son Nikolaos P. Tides; Daughter Sotiria (Tides) Oliver; Son-in-Law Brian Oliver; Daughter-in-Law Dr. Sofia (Georgiadou) Tides; Grandson Nikolas Oliver; Granddaughter Anna Oliver. Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Online condolences and a video tribute may be viewed at www.flannerbuchanan.com Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery. Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple is handling funeral arrangements.
