Sybil Muriel (Lee) Hopkins, 86, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on October 26, 2025. She was born on April 9, 1939, in Linton, Indiana to the late Thomas and Rose Marie (Tannehill) Lee. She was married for 47 years to William “Bill” Hopkins, who also preceded her in death.
Sybil graduated from Eagle Township (Zionsville) High School in 1957 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. After high school, Sybil worked for AT&T until her daughter was born. She later managed the thrift store for Zionsville Christian Church where she was a member.
She loved flowers and was an avid gardener, spending countless hours tending to her many gardens.
She was also a social butterfly who never met a stranger.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Hopkins. Also survived by Cinnamon Lee, nephews Brad (Cheryl) Morrison, Ron (Doreen Bennett) Morrison, Alan Hopkins, niece Karen (Ted) Cripe, as well as many great-nieces and nephews. She was also “Granny” to Caroline, Garrett, Isaac, Kalyn, Kristen, Nick, Stephanie, and Tori.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rose Marie Lee, her husband William J. Hopkins, siblings Janice (Morrison) McCleary and Tom Lee, nieces Paula (Morrison) Hayes and Marsha (Hopkins) Zimmerman.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan Zionsville. The funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
