Susie M Bailey

Susie M. Bailey, 98, devoted mother and beloved wife of Keith A. Bailey, passed away Thursday August 21, 2025, in Northville, Michigan.

Susie is survived by her four children, Duane (with wife Michelle), Steve (with wife Barb), Rod (with wife Joyce), and Roz (with husband Mehdi). She leaves behind eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Susie was born in Indiana and lived most of her life there. While living in Indiana, she was a long-time member of the Speedway United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Women’s Club at the church and spent many hours volunteering and using her sewing skills. Susie and Keith moved to Florida from Indiana in the early 1980s. While in Florida, she spent countless hours at the beach, volunteered as the seamstress for the drama club, bowled in a league, and played a lot of card games.

After living in Florida for about 20 years, they moved back to Indiana to be closer to family. Following the death of Keith, Susie moved into an assisted living facility. There she spent most of her time painting, crafting, playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and exercising daily. She mostly enjoyed socializing and staying as active as possible.

Susie was a member of the Miami Indian Tribe.

Visitation from 12pm-2pm followed by a service at 2pm will be held on August 29 at Flanner and Buchanan, located at 2950 N. High School Rd, Speedway, IN 46224. Burial will follow at Washington Park North Cemetary, located at 2702 Kessler Blvd. West Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46228. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to either Meals on Wheels or Salvation Army in Susie’s honor.

Susie touched everyone’s heart she got to know, with her humor and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
