Susan Gayle Novak was born July 24, 1951 in Streator, IL to Thomas Novak and Wanda Elkins Novak. She graduated from Indiana University and went on to become a nurse, after receiving her Master’s in Psychology. She retired from Wishard Hospital as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Susan was a very adventurous person, who loved the outdoors, whether it was skiing, rafting, or walking through parks. She wanted to see the world! She spent many wonderful days with her husband outdoors. Susan had many friends and was in a social group named The Lilies, with many long-term friends who met for dinner to discuss various topics. She loved to attend community events, such as the Irish Festival, and was always looking for more opportunities to experience new things. She was always the life of the party and never knew a stranger. She could strike up a conversation with anyone at any time.
Susan loved music. Her favorite band was The Beatles, and she attended many concerts with her husband. After she got an iPhone, she would play their music wherever she went.
Susan was a loving and devoted mother, who provided many opportunities for her daughter, Haley, and encouraged her to try as many new things as possible, from dance class to tennis. Susan wanted to make Haley’s life special as special as she could.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Haley Novak, and her husband, Dale Cobb.
