Susan Young Caron

Susan Young Caron, 81, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on June 9, 2026 after a prolonged battle with vascular dementia. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Born January 21, 1945, Susan lived a life full of warm friendship, lively conversation, and an unmistakable gift of spreading joy.

To know Susan was to be welcomed. A true social butterfly, she never met a stranger, and she had a way of making everyone in the room feel seen and valued. As a longtime and devoted Toastmaster, she found joy in the spoken word and in encouraging others to find their own voice. She was a proud sister of Alpha Xi Delta and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, carrying the bonds of both throughout her life.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, David; her mother, Eloise; and her sister, Norma. She is survived by her sons, Jay (Lauren) Caron and David (Jodi) Caron; her grandchildren, Brooke (Garrett) Clark, Davis, Hannah (Henry)Farrar, Lillie, and Audrey (Carter) Schmitt; and a wide circle of friends who were blessed to call her their own.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. A family graveside service will be held at 3:45 p.m. at Battle Grove Cemetery, 531 Pike Street, Cynthiana, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Dementia Society of America or Conner Prairie.
