Steven R. Howard, 58, of Carmel, entered into Heaven on Saturday, October 11, 2014, surrounded by his family. Steve was the son of Arla (Watson) and James L. Howard, Sr., and was born in Jeffersonville, IN. He graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1974 and later received his business degree from Indiana Wesleyan. Steve spent his entire professional career with United Parcel Service and retired after 38 years. He was a member of College Park Church in Indianapolis. In his free time, Steve loved to golf, watch The Andy Griffith Show, and cheer on the Heritage Christian girls' basketball team.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife Lisa (Carr) Howard; his loving daughter Lauren (Howard) Swilley, and her husband, David; his loving daughter Anna Claire Howard; his father, James L. Howard, Sr., of Charlestown, IN; his brother, James L. Howard, Jr., and his wife, Patti, of Henryville, IN; his sister, Tracy (Howard) Brooks, and her husband, Tim, of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held Friday, October 17, 2014, at College Park Church, 2606 West 96th Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46268. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 Noon, with a memorial service from 12 – 1:30 p.m.
