Steven "Steve" D. Grow, 57, of Carmel, IN, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011. He was born in Paragon, IN, to Hubert and Marjorie (Opell) Grow on October 16, 1954. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1973 and from IU School of Business in 1980 with a degree in accounting. He worked as a CPA with Main Hurdman before moving on to Oxford Development Corporation, Forum Group Inc., Quality Fresh Cigars, MHI Governmental Systems, Midwest Cabinet Brokers, and Buildings To Go. He began his current job in September of 2006 with World Wide Motors and found a place to stay.
Steve had many passions such as cars, boats, water skiing, and animals, but his main passion was people. He made friends easily and kept them for life. Once you were a friend of Steve's, you were family and would be forever. He will be greatly missed by many.
Steve is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jayne; two brothers, Carl Grow (Judy) and Dave Grow (Beth); a nephew, Dr. Matthew Grow (Peg); a niece, Elizabeth Hlavaty; and two great-nieces. In addition, he leaves behind many dear friends, extended family members, and colleagues, as well as beloved pets Chester, Ricky, Bob, Harley, Callie, and B.J. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Marjorie Grow.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN.
