Steven “Steve” R. Brody, 75, of Carmel, IN, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born July 8, 1949, in Chicago to the late Jerry and Merle Brody. He was a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH. He served and protected his country in the military services of the Illinois Army Reserves and the Ohio National Guard.
Steve was an investment specialist for over 35 years, retiring from Lincoln Financial Group in 2006, concentrating on corporate real estate and investment management. Upon retirement his devoted focus was on not-for-profit entities and real estate development in Fort Wayne, IN. Steve loved helping others through his community stewardship and service for the benefit of others.
Steve was a man of many talents, but it was his kindness, generosity, volunteer stewardship and his very dry sense of humor that made him the man so many people knew and loved.
Steve always put family first and was a fierce protector and provider for his family. He was a sports enthusiast, whether it be watching his grandchildren’s games or attending Game 7 of the Cubs World Series Championship.
His greatest accomplishments in life were as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, son and friend. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carolyn; children, Jonathan (Jennifer) Brody and Amanda Brody; stepsons, Thomas (Jill) Berta and Daniel Berta; grandchildren, Ben, Kate, Jack, Mack, Ellie, Ellie, Rosie and Brynne; brothers, Barry, Rick (Amy) and Howard (Kathy) Brody.
