Steven Brents

Steven Brents was born December 1, 1948 to the parents of Edward Brents Sr. and Viola Dancler-Brents in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Indianapolis Public School No. 41, Shortridge High School, studied Psychology at the University of Indianapolis and attended World Harvest Bible College/LESEA Ministry.

Steven accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age. He later united with Mt Paran Baptist Church as a young man where he served as a deacon and the Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. Most recently he served in leadership at Access Ministry – a home based ministry, where he excelled in teaching and interpretation of the Word of God.

He was well known for his jovial personality and making others laugh. Steven was usually the center attraction at gatherings, especially drawing the attention of young children with his vivid imagination of storytelling.

In his younger years he was an avid basketball player and later enjoyed viewing many types of sports. Before retiring in 2008 Steven was employed by CSX Railroad for 35 years as a Carmen/Inspector.

Steven Brents departed his earthly life to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8) on December 16, 2020 at the age of 72.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 48 years Lorraine Brents; daughters Jasmine Brents, Lindsay Viers , husband Johnny Viers, Erin Taylor, husband Adrian Taylor; brothers Edward Brents Jr., wife Vicki Brents, Ronald Brents, wife Paulette Brents, Kevin Brents, wife Belinda Brents, brother-in-law Ron Ferguson; two nephews, nine nieces, seven grandchildren, along with host of cousins, church family and friends.
