Stephen C. Sprint of Westfield, IN, previously of Lakeville, MN, passed away on November 26, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born in Minnesota on September 24, 1939, to parents Howard and Eileen (Knauss) Sprint. He spent much of his boyhood on the family farm in southern Minnesota before moving to Mankato, where he attended high school and graduated from Mankato State University. Stephen had a long and impactful career with St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul and retired as Vice President of Human Resources for HealthEast, the company that acquired St. Joe’s. Steve loved deer hunting, fishing Up North, and boating on the St. Croix River. He dedicated countless hours as a Boy Scout Leader, being recognized with the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor a local Boy Scouts of America council can give to a volunteer leader.
He is survived by children Michelle Sprint Smith (Joseph Neil Smith) and Thomas Sprint; grandchildren Sydney and Spencer Smith; Alissa, Louis, Addison, Camryn and Noah Clark, and much-loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James, Michael and Mark.
