Stephen R. LaMotte, 84, Carmel, Indiana went into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 3, 2025, Steve was born on December 18, 1940, in Richmond, Indiana, the son of the late Ralph and Georgia Teter LaMotte.
Steve graduated from Fairmont High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1959 and Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa, with a BA in Business in 1964. He joined the Army Reserves and met his business partner, Denny Fulk, and was co-owner with Fulk Equipment Company, Inc. for 33 years.
Steve was a faithful man of God, who thoroughly enjoyed studying the Bible, attending Bible Study Fellowship and Iron 2 Iron Bible Study for several years. He served as an elder at College Park Church from 2010-2016, was a biblical Soul Care counselor, and a Small Group Leader for over 20 years. His favorite Scripture verses were 2 Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him,” and Colossians 1: 9 -11, “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy.”
He is survived by the love of his life, Jody, of 54 years of a joy-filled marriage. They have two beloved sons, Steve, Jr., Carmel, Indiana, and Billy and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Melynda, West Palm Beach, Florida, and 5 extraordinary grandchildren, whom he adored: Savannah, Kensie, Ashton, Kendall, and Mia.
Steve was an enthusiast in photography, traveling, music, exotic cars, politics, being a landlord with rental property in Lawrence, Indiana, and vacationing with his family to West Palm Beach, Florida, Captiva, Florida, and Lake Maxinkuckee, Culver, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to College Park Church, Samaritan’s Purse, or The Jesus Film Project.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12pm, on Monday, April 14, 2025, at College Park Church (2606 W. 96th, Indianapolis, IN 46268).
