Stephen Eugene Joslin

Stephen Eugene Joslin, 64, of Las Vegas, passed away August 24, 2011, at a local hospital with his family by his side. Steve was born Dec. 1, 1946, to Harry and Patricia Joslin in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served 4 years in the Air Force as a jet aircraft mechanic during the Vietnam War era. He was a 31 year resident of Las Vegas. A security officer for 31 years, he worked at the original MGM Grand Hotel and later for Bally's where he retired in 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Diane; children Lori Rohrman and Julie Sarkissian of Phoenix; five grandchildren: Joseph, Ashley, Aaron, Anthony, and Andrew; two great grandchildren: Kay Lee and Mason Alexander; his sister Sheryl Roberts of Coatesville, Indiana; mother Patricia; and ex-wife Margaret Reynolds. Also surviving him are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Before his health declined, he ran the Las Vegas Marathon, took up downhill skiing, rode motorcycles, loved to hike, and was a certified scuba diver. Steve was most proud of his home, his family, his Air Force service, and his two pit bull dogs, Nickie and Roxie. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Friends are invited to meet with the family also on Sunday from 1:30 PM until time of services at the funeral center.
