Stephanie Ottinger

November 23, 1969 — September 9, 2025

Stephanie Ottinger, 55, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away September 9th, 2025. Stephanie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 23rd, 1969, to parents, Norman Ottinger and Sandra Krepp. She graduated from Atterbury Job Corp Center after attending Lawrence Central High School.

Stephanie worked as a caretaker and often in strong customer service focused roles during her career. She enjoyed helping people with everything that she did. Whether that be through her work at Freedom Mortgage or her time as a home health aide. She cared for both her mother and father until they passed. Always helping others more than she would help herself. She spent many years in Florida where she also did concession/event work that she loved. Anywhere people were enjoying themselves, especially with music, was a place she wanted to be.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her mother and father Sandra and Norman Ottinger.

She is survived by her daughters, Courtney Ottinger and Caty Theobald; grandson, Brandon Wright; and sisters, Suzette Dodge and Nicole Lowe.

A visitation in Stephanie's honor will be held 6-8pm Friday September 26th, at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East. An additional visitation will be held 10-11am Saturday September 27th, at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11am. Stephanie will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.

We ask that everyone please come wearing bright colors or something that reminds you of Stephanie. She would not want a sea of black mourners in her remembrance. She would want us to remember her fondly and celebrate the times we did have. She was such a ray of joy to all the lives she touched it that it only seems right that we spend the day shining for her.

She was the kind of person that would not hesitate to help anyone in need down to her last penny. She truly was a light in this world with a smile for any and everyone. Full of color and laughter. She made friends everywhere she went and couldn’t find it in her heart to hate anyone. She is a one-of-a-kind spirit and will be missed so dearly.
