Stella (Michaelis) Ferrales

Stella (Michaelis) Ferrales, Las Cruces, died peacefully in her sleep onDecember 21, 2015. She was born November 16, 1960, the oldest daughter of thelate Guadalupe “Pino” Ferrales and Linda (Nulfo) Dominguez. Stella graduated with the class of 1978 fromLas Cruces High School. She was a proudAggie, going to school while raising two young daughters, graduating from NewMexico State University in 1994 with Bachelor’s of Science in Social Work. A lifelong learner, she went back to schoolto obtain a Master’s of Science in Business from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Stella will be remembered for her immense love for everyone and everythingin her life. From her belovedIndianapolis Colts, giraffes, Organ Mountains (a.k.a. “Mommy’s mountains”), herYorkie, wine and travel. Mom was perfect in every way, always joking andpicking on everyone, fun and glamorous, intelligent, driven, always dressed toflawlessness. She was a “second mom” toa few good kids she loved. To know her, is to adore her and respect her. Of all her accomplishments, she was mostproud of being a mother to three children. Her Three K’s were everything to her. She was blessed late in life with her son, her sunshine-boy, with whomshe cherished every moment.

Mom, you are our sunshine.

Stella was a loving friend, aunt, sister, daughter and the perfect mom. Sheis survived by her children, Kasandra (Jayson) Michaelis, Krystal Michaelis andKorbin Shelley (father, Dr. Brent E. Shelley); her mom, Linda and Papa Nulfo, siblings, Sonia (Victor) Madrid,Sandra (Dan) Coe, Sal (Rose) Ferrales, Bobby Valencia, Ishmael Dominguez, Alvin(Cindy) Dominguez , Corina Dominguez, Celinda Dominguez; aunts and uncles,Louisa (Stan) Infante, Rosalia (Jesus) Olivas, Jose (Ale) Arreola; Lupe(Ernest) Ferrales, loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015,at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda St. Las Cruces, NM 88005. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.Rosary promptly at 9:00 a.m. In lieu offlowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Cross Catholic Churchor Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital atSt.Vincent, 8402 Harcourt Road, Suite 210, Indianapolis, IN 46260. Youare invited to a Celebration of Stella’s Life at 12:00 noon at the Elks Lodge,3000 Elks Drive. Arrangements were entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapel.
