Stella Adaline Grant

Stella Adaline Grant, née Smoot, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at the age of 101. Born on July 24, 1924, in Kentucky, Stella led a life marked by devotion, warmth, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.

A cherished member of her Bible Church, Stella's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her deep commitment to her spiritual community offered strength and comfort not only to herself but also to those around her. Her sense of humor, quick wit, and heartfelt laughter brought joy and light to many gatherings, reflecting a personality both lively and endearing.

Stella was a devoted mother to her children: Jeanie (Jim) Balke, Betty Lacefield, and Judy Matthews. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to encompass numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her later years. She took immense delight in their successes and milestones, often regaling them with stories infused with wisdom and warmth.

Her legacy is one of giving; she was known for her generous nature, always willing to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. Stella's life embodied the values she held dear—faith, family, and kindness—and her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Stella Adaline Grant’s remarkable journey is a testament to a life well-lived, grounded in faith and family, punctuated by laughter and grace. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by her children, extended family, and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, from 12pm-2pm at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East Funeral Center with a Funeral service at 2pm.  Entombment to immediately follow.
