Stanley V. Welton

Stanley V. Welton, 59 of Indianapolis passed away December 30, 2011. He was a 1970 Arlington High School graduate and attended IU. Stan owned Welton Optical, Inc. in New Palestine prior to working in investment banking at Charles Schwab as well as other institutions. Stan was an avid reader, an excellent pianist and accomplished writer. He was a columnist for the Indianapolis monthly and New Palestine Press. He was preceded in death by his father Frank and brother Leland. Stan is survived by his children Stacie Morris, Shana Markle, Steele Welton, Shepard Welton and Sean Welton; 9 grandchildren; mother Fernita Faye Welton McWilliams, and brothers Bradford and Marshall Welton. Services will be Wednesday, January 4, 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 8540 E. 16th Street with visitation Tuesday, January 3, from 5 to 8pm at the Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington Street. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Palestine Lions Club or The Boys and Girls Club of Indiana.
